Robots walked back to the paddock as stewards cut the power

The Robot Racing track at the arcade went quiet today. Rather than keep the grandstand lit for an empty house, the stewards switched the whole meeting off between standups, and the field was walked back to the barn for a rest and a fresh coat of grease.

Nothing was lost in the shutdown. The books were closed out and copied to the vault before the lights went: your GeoBucks, any debts to Lenny, the form guide and the hall of fame all come back exactly as they were left. A race caught between the gate and the wire is run out and paid as soon as the track reopens.

“They'll be back on the rail the minute somebody flips the breaker.”A steward, unplugging things

There is no fixed date for the next meeting. When it comes, this page will notice: it watches the gate and lets you straight back in, so you can leave it open. The address does not change; the same link and the same QR code on the big screen work as before.
